Description
Synopsis for Wisdom from the Watcher on the Wall
By Lawrence Boudreau
The author is taking a radical new approach to "understanding" of religious practices in general and Christianity in particular. He also touches upon the complexities of natural living in a spiritual world. Most interesting of all is his ability to speak to people at their level rather than from a lofty perch. While he is learned and holds the title of Rev. Dr. Lawrence Boudreau, with over 30 years of studying the word of God, he does not adhere to titles but rather embraces all people by merely referring to himself as Brother Larry.
In this work, he blends the facts of science with the mysteries of religious dogma in the chapter entitled "The Science of Spirit and Other Biblical Mysteries."It is not his perspective that science and religion are mutually exclusive. Rather, it is his view that they complement each other as he reveals in this chapter. While this chapter is rather lengthy the authors “Introduction” to this work explained its necessity of inclusion as a foundation for the rest of the book. In chapters three and four, The Journey and The Race he charts a clear course. from his perspective, for the world and for the religious community. In Chapter 5, A to Sex, the author takes a down to earth approach to the age-old problem of the war of the sexes. In this manner, he endeavors to engage both the worldly and the religious in his work. In chapter 6 "Illusion Versus Reality," the author offers a different perspective to the reader that will challenge their core beliefs. While this next chapter "The Three Gifts" has the appearance of being misplaced within this work. It clearly illustrates nonlinear thinking that he espouses about the spiritual realm. In Chapter 8 "Miracles" the author offers both firsthand and hearsay accounts of numerous miracles that occurred in his Christian experience and leaves it to the reader to decide if they are real or coincidences. The amazing thing about this chapter is that the author actually produces physical evidence to support his claims. In chapter 9, "The Things They Won't Tell You in Church" the author endeavors to do just that and revealed these things to the reader. In chapter 10 "Interview with God." The author takes a novel approach of including his readers and followers into this work with a "what if" interview to ask questions of God and receive answers. Since all the questions in this chapter were actually provided by followers of his page on Facebook "Religious Truth Fellowship." In Chapter 11 "Final Report" the author offers the reader closure by summarizing everything that he has presented to this point in the tradition that dates back all the way to Aristotle of “Tell the audience what you’re going to say, say it; then tell them what you’ve said.”In the personal note from the author. He allows a point of contact between himself and the reader that for the most part, is unheard of in modern literature. At the very end of the book, the author provides a complete "reference section" to full Bible quotations to allow the reader to flip back and forth in one book to find them, rather than having to handle two books at one time.
